Stop It

I don't know if you've heard about the newest threats against Anita Sarkeesian, but that was the catalyst that blew up an online movement operating under the hashtag: #stopgamergate2014. I don't want to go into too much detail now since this will be the topic of my full post Friday, but I am definitely Smiling today, seeing so many people - celebrities included - standing up and demanding an end to harassment and threats targeted toward gaming journalists and women in particular.

It's a refreshing change of pace for the internet, usually such a hostile place, to stand up in defense of those being attacked. I hope it actually results in change.
